Our basic area of recruitment is the West Country and South Wales. However, we do have members in many parts of the country, including Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Lancashire, Suffolk, Surrey and Yorkshire!
1644
Our Regiment is named after Colonel James Carr (also spelt Kerr) who was made Governor of Plymouth during July 1644, about the time Sir Richard Grenville attempted to blockade the town on the orders of Prince Maurice. Thankfully, the Earl of Essex arrived and Sir Richard beat a hasty retreat.
2010
The Regiment is involved in a number of events this season (see Calendar page). The Regiment has a broad spectrum of members in the form of families and individuals, but has one overriding common factor: we are a close-knit group of people.
Regimental Jollifications
In the West Country members get together weekly at the Ram in Widcombe, Bath on a Wednesday at around 8.30 pm.
We also have a social event once a year where we have a party and play games. This year it will be held in February at Boscombe Down
